Stroller or carrier

CPSC defines a stroller as a wheeled vehicle, generally sitting-up or semi-reclined, usually folded for storage, normally used from infancy to 36 months. The federal rule is 16 C.F.R. part 1227. A soft carrier is 16 C.F.R. part 1226. CPSC: infants in strollers must be properly secured at all times. Entrapment and strangulation risk. A soft infant and toddler carrier is generally upright, close to the caregiver. It is not a sling. Slings are built around a reclined carry. Many families bring both and switch. Compact stroller
The compact stroller earns the outdoor stretch: canopy, basket, a pause under shade. A carrier is not shade. Unsheltered walk before noon wants the canopy. The carrier earns indoor rest and a queue the stroller cannot enter. Heat still sits on the adult. A dark attraction or a tight indoor queue wants a carrier you already know how to put on. A parked stroller is not a crib. Many families bring both and switch.
